Bluegum Hostel is a small comfortable house set amoung tall gum trees including several large old Tasmanian Blue Gums, for whch we are named. We are located on the shore of Eaglehawk Bay at Eaglehawk Neck, the gateway to the Tasman Peninsula and just a 20 minute drive from Port Arthur and the start of the Three Capes Walks

Our facilities include 1 double bedroom, a shared mixed dorm with 4 bunks, shared bathroon and full kitchen and a large lounge / dining room  with a great outlook over a small seasonal native wetland which hosts wild ducks, herons, Tasmanian natve hens, lots of frogs and our own chickens running around the yard. We have free WiFi for guests and a picnic table and BBQ.

Your hosts, Marion & Phil are happy to share our knowledge of the Tasman Peninsula and suggest places to visit and see in the area.
Whether you wish to visit Port Arthur and asociated historic sites, walk the 'Three Capes'  or other walking tracks, take a fantastic fast boat trip along the highest sea cliffs in the southern hemisphere spotting albatross, dolphins or humpback and Southern Right Whales in season, surf the mighty Shipsterns Bluff or other surf spots or just laze the day away on some of the most beautiful almost deserted beaches you will find anywhere, Bluegum Hostel is a quiet home from home with comfy beds to welcome you after a day or more exploring the beautiful Tasman Peninsula.
